Hunger Awareness Week

At Multi Shelter Solutions, we are committed to helping eliminate food insecurity and people going hungry. During the pandemic earlier this year, we were fortunate to be considered an essential service due to providing structures to grow food and take care of various equipment, animals and other tasks on the farm.

We have helped numerous food banks, particularly associated with schools, to help grow food for the people who need to use them. Partnering with schools, this also allows the ability to teach the kids how to grow the food that they, and their families, are eating.

This future planning and thinking is a sustainable way for all of humanity. With this week being Hunger Awareness week, we want to highlight this special cause and initiative, that is needed all year long. Through our Giving Back program at Multi Shelters, we have donated to various charities that provide food, as well as donating structures to communities in need. If you or someone you know has an organization that could benefit from this, please reach out and have a discussion from Norm about how Multi Shelters can partner with you to help make food insecurity a less prominent concern in our society. And please, if you see someone in need and can help, please do. We are all connected, we are all one.

New Initiatives for Gratitude in 2020

In 2020 we are going to take the giving back initiative to an even higher level. We are excited to have you as a part of this program!

When you receive your order, there will be a thank you gift for having trusted us with your shelter requirements

Also, we will be making a donation for each structure that is purchased. There will be a little card included in your parts package which lets you know what charity your order is supporting. Each month there will be a different charity. Details of these charities with the opportunity of finding out more is on our website and social media channels

A key part of our business success and growth is word of mouth referrals. This is something we are so grateful for. In your thank you package, you will also be getting some business cards to assist in spreading the word.
When you do spread the word, please let the recipient know the importance of letting us know who they received the recommendation from so that we may share a thank you with you, when they call us

We appreciate you doing this and want to acknowledge you for spreading the word with a token of our gratitude.

Another part of our giving back program is where we give significant discounts to groups that combine teaching, food and under privileged. We have had the privilege of sharing in some amazing projects.Check out our website for details on some of these projects

It is a natural fit between food & greenhouses ….teaching & schools. If you know of a group that fits those parameters and could use some help have them contact us.

We are looking forward to working with you on your structure project and sharing gratitude and positive experiences with you in 2020

Community Projects and Giving Back

Multi Shelter Solutions tries to give back in many ways to the community, locally and beyond. We have done projects with Friends of the Orphans in Haiti and Food Bank projects out on the east coast, as well as many local projects here in Ontario in rural native communities and combined with food banks and other breakfast club initiatives. This is something we believe whole heartedly in and would very much like to do more of.

If you know of a project that could use our help, or are involved with something you’d like to see us put some help behind, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know about it.

This is an ongoing initiative of Multi Shelter Solutions, and as a company, and all our staff, would love to see this continue. Please join us in taking some time to give back, and Pay It Forward. A little smile goes a long way.

Giving Back to Our Community

Every year at Multi Shelter Solutions we try to collaborate with non profit organizations and other volunteer opportunities to provide a shelter at low or no cost.

We have done shelters for Haiti after the earthquake, a shelter for an eye clinic in the Dominican Republic, arches for Magical Lights of Milton that donates back to the Milton Hospital at Christmas, greenhouse to Aroland First Nations in Northern Ontario to provide food for their community and learning opportunities for the students, and work with Food Bank projects out on the east coast to help provide fresh, healthy vegetables to those most in need, and the list continues to grow. See photos on our “giving back” page.

This is something we believe whole heartedly in and would very much like to work with more causes to help in whatever way we can.  We also want to express gratitude for the various opportunities we’ve had to help out non-profit and not-for-profit groups.

Giving Back Greenhouse Opportunity

Multi Shelters values working with communities to help with charity and non-profit situations needing an extra boost of help, that we can give back whenever possible.

We have a wonderful opportunity coming up next week that we would like to share with you. Norm has been working closely with Johnny Theriault School and the community of Aroland First Nations, north of Thunder Bay. They are receiving a 20×48 Greenhouse for the school to use for teaching, and the community for fresh food. The community is quite excited for this opportunity and we are grateful to be part of the anticipation.

We would like to thank Breakfast Club of Canada for the opportunity of partnering with them to supply this greenhouse project. Norm will have to opportunity of meeting with the children and will be able to explain how this greenhouse will be used to produce some local fresh food.

We feel very grateful and fortunate to be involved with projects like this.
